Don't Give Up On Your Gift : Lessons from My 7-Year Journey as a Writer

  Seven years ago, I started to post my writings publicly.  They were real, crude and very relatable pieces.  Just simple everyday stories and lifestyle experiences told from the POV of a young black girl who wanted to soar.  I used the word, 'soar' because writing gave me the wings to express my innermost self with clarity and precision.  I didn't study in English language in the university, but I earned the nickname, ' English teacher ' because I did it effortlessly.  I could keep a conversation going, but you would hardly find me starting it- I was that quiet.  I would stay in my room as a serving youth Corp member then and my 500- word post on Facebook would be seen by over 1,000 individuals.  And over 200 people would engage.  You see, the people who cheered me on, encouraged me, and celebrated me back then are still here, today.  Some of them became my students by registering for my writing classes .   Two Foreign Applications in One Month — and Counting! Honestly, this is nothing short of  God’s grace . In just one month, I received  two job applications  from  foreign candidates  who want to work with  The Storytelling Queen Company . I still can’t fully explain how God is announcing this firm, but He’s doing it — visibly, beautifully, and beyond my imagination. Yesterday, another email dropped: A full application — cover letter, résumé, and extra details meant only for the employer. I just sat there smiling and whispering, “So this is what being a CEO feels like…” The Humble Beginnings Still Matter Right now, I’m still operating with a lean team.
