The Unspoken Challenges of Teaching Sign Language: A Heartwarming Story


 



As a sign linguist, I've encountered numerous challenges while teaching special students. Today's experience reminded me of the importance of empathy and understanding at all time.


While signing for my students during a church service, one of them expressed frustration, claiming she wasn't understanding. Her behavior caught me off guard, but I remained calm, recognizing the importance of maintaining a positive learning environment.

The Power of Sign Language in Inclusive Education

Sign language is more than just a means of communication; it's a bridge between worlds. My students, who are deaf or hard of hearing, rely on sign language to access information and connect with me and their peers.

Challenges Faced by Sign Language Teachers

1. Communication barriers
2. Negative attitudes and behaviors
3. Limited resources and support
4. Maintaining student engagement

The Lessons I Learned:

1. Stay calm and patient, even in challenging situations.
2. Foster empathy and understanding among students.
3. Encourage open communication and feedback.

AN ALERT OF 700 DOLLARS ON A SUNDAY MORNING

An alert of 700 USD on Sunday morning!  I became numb for about 5minutes after seeing the notification at around 3:00am on my phone. Who could have sent this to me, now?   I want to share Three Powerful ways by which you can survive in a demonic environment/territory.  I was discussing with my husband about some strange things that I started to notice around our apartment during the day.
